Typically the winter months just after the holidays tend to slow down for us, but not this year and we are so pleased about that! We have been busy with business cards as you may have noticed.

The inspiration behind these cards were masculine, clean and modern. Because these are more for personal use {hence calling card and not business card} we were able to eliminate most of the necessary clutter that comes with the more corporate of cards.

In a book! Yes, a BOOK! Can you believe it? We hardly can.

Remember the WM wedding and then how it led to our SW client? Well the extremely talented mother and daughter teamed up and wrote a book about the whole WM wedding experience. We knew this was happening and heard rumor that no names of those involved were changed, but we had no idea what we were in for until we read it ourselves on January 25th, the day it hit book shelves.

To our surprise we have a whole chapter. Yes, a whole chapter was written about and dedicated to Atlas & Campbell! Freaking. Out.

Now, we are not just saying this because we are in the book, but you have to read it! It is hilarious and such a fun read! You will honestly laugh out loud, even sitting in a room all by yourself, you won't be able to contain your giggles.

Susan Wiggs was really fun to design for. She leaned on us for our aesthetic and opinion {what an honor!}. It is always a challenge to develop a logo for someone but her trust made it fun. A logo needs to communicate the person and the brand in its entirety, thus the challenge. But once you have the logo the pieces seem to come together seamlessly. It is always really gratifying for us to see them next to one another as a complete business suite of materials.

These next two pieces in the SW business system were treats that we were only hoping SW would opt for. And she did! We are so glad because they make her business system unique and we think, very thorough.

We imagine her surprising fans with her letterpressed bookmarks in signed copies of her book. Or maybe a smattering of them sticking out of the top of her personal book shelf, marking her place in all of the books she is currently reading.

We love the spin on the SW logo, highlighting the tag line that she has been using on her website for years. Isn't it the perfect mantra to hold your place in any book? And, if someone is lucky enough to get her to autograph one of these babies, it won't be redundant with her letterpressed name and her signed name...it will be, just perfect.

We have hinted at it a few times just because we could not for the life of us hold in our excitement. Do you recognize this name? Does the quill writing her new logo give you a clue?

Maybe you saw her as the featured book on the face of the Kindle while you did some shopping on amazon.com, maybe while you were scanning the New York Times best selling authors you came across her at position #1, or perhaps on USA Today's list of best selling authors. However you got there, you know her as Susan Wiggs the {oh, you know, just an} AUTHOR and she picked US to completely re-brand her!

We started by creating a logo and all settled on this one you see here, on the face of her new business card. She let us use blind letterpress as one of her "colors" so you can imagine that we absolutely love her.

Sorry we can't give you a clear, full frontal {and if you are familiar with her books, then you know that was so fitting} of the business card. The artist needs her privacy in order to create.

While we were on blogging hiatus the end of last year we were actually still working, a lot! Here is the Atlas & Campbell holiday card, just one of the many holiday projects we were finishing up. More to come later this week and a lot to catch you up on the following too!

Umm...remember a little blog with a similar photo?! Ahhh! Still gets us!

Santa brought us a new camera! So, enjoy the over documentation while the novelty lasts.

Notice the oh-so-tasteful, barely there attribution on the back of the card? As you may {or may not have} noticed, we don't brand our products really, except for the few retail cards we have come out with and our personal holiday card, obviously. When we create custom works for our clients however, you wont see it there. We would never want to take the attention off of the celebration or the person by stamping our name all over everything {as subtle as blind letterpress is}. It's just not, how do we put it....classy {in our humble opinion}.

Can you believe some clients have even asked for it to be added? It's true! As flattering as that is, you are not our billboard. But that doesn't mean we don't want you to shout our name from the mountain tops, pass our business cards out like candy or casually work our name into every unrelated conversation you ever have from here on out. Just sayin'.

We love our fans and how you root for us. So keep on keepin' on, please!

Hi, hi, hi! We are so excited to be back and 2011 has already begun on a GREAT foot!

Today Style Me Pretty has just dropped their first e-magazine and guess who was in it...we were! Yep, that's right. The AB wedding was in SMP's first digital magazine! We still can't even believe it. Maybe that is why we keep flipping {or should we say clicking?} back to pages 96-101 to make sure it is still true! And yes, it is in fact. Three whole double page spreads. Whaaaat?!

we think custom designed wedding signage is like icing on the cake. it is such a subtle yet important detail. it clearly shows the thought and coordination that has gone into creating your look and it helps keep that common thread running throughout from start to finish.

BH had us design signage for all of their cake flavors, guest table numbers and for different tables around their wedding, like the photo booth for example. with the signage coordinating with all of their wedding paper, dating back to their invitation even, it really shows the quality of the planning for their wedding.

so, we didn't print this seating chart for SS but we designed it and let us tell you, it was so cool. SS wanted one large poster sized chart instead of the classic escort cards where her guests could find which table they were seated at for the night. it turned out beautiful and if we do say so ourselves, one of the most elegant "posters" we have ever seen. there is just something about that font when you blow it up to life size...and(!) it bleeds of the edges of the poster, swoon.

we were thrilled to see the wedding photos from SS. the wedding was beautiful! we think our favorite detail (besides all of the atlas & campbell pieces and the most lovely bride, of course) were the cascading ribbons that hung behind the couple during their ceremony. it was beyond.

the font we used on the OT wedding invitation really has been quite the hit, and we can definitely understand why. it's absolutely beautiful! and when letterpressed, or better yet, blind letterpressed, it's practically irresistible!

BH was married almost {tomorrow} a month ago and we owe them a long overdue congratulations and happy one month anniversary at that!

it's the SS wedding suite recap post. the post where we bring all of the pieces we have created for SS together in one place. the post that really shows the family resemblance between paper siblings. and sadly, the post that indicates a project has come to a close.

here at a&c we definitely prefer to use names, monograms or even deigns on wedding stationery rather than the standard "thank you". we think it looks more sophisticated and definitely more custom. plus, just like your fancy left over cocktail napkins they can be used for a lifetime after your wedding {all the more reason to over order these puppies}. two birds with one stone.

the SS save the date turned out so well that we decided to repeat the blind letterpressed script for their wedding stationery. and clearly that turned out so well that we were feeling inspired:

okay, so we went a little creative crazy with the photos above. so much so that you can't even recognize this as stationery, right? so, here is it {see below}. but, now you know if you run out of thank you's to write, they also double as a wreath. bet you can't guess what will be hanging on our door this holiday season.

yay! the lace is back and just when you thought it was gone forever. we didn't want to overload the SS wedding guests and clutter their tables with all of our lace pattern. after all, the true centerpiece - the bride - was wearing it. so knowing that the table numbers and the wedding favor tags would be in close quarters of one another we pulled out a single lace flower to adorn the tags with. it's not the full lace monty but rather a little hint of it that coordinates seamlessly.

one of our favorite event accessories are custom designed cocktail napkins. they are a subtle addition but an impactful one {aren't they all?}. we think it actually shows the time and thought that was put into every detail.

added bonus? if you order a bit more than you think you will need {or have very tidy guests} at your wedding they are fun to have in your house for years to come. we are picturing the new mr. & mrs. SS having their friends over to their new home for the first time and feeling very fancy with their custom cocktail napkins flanking the appetizers on their coffee table.

there was a lot of information to pack into the SS wedding ceremony program so we wanted to keep the design simple and clean {just like the layout - single fold - simple and clean}.

the font itself plays a large role in the design of the SS suite so we opted not to include the lace pattern just yet in the wedding paper lineup {oh yeah! we keep those wedding guests on their toes and always wanting more}. it's so elegant on its own and ties seamlessly into the whole suite without being too redundant.

SS are such kind and thoughtful people so it was not a surprise to us that they wanted to welcome their guests with a bag of goodies and a note upon arrival. we were lucky enough to be the ones to designs and produce their welcome note.

we love the idea of a welcome note because it is the first little taste of the wedding that your guests will see, so it makes for a great opportunity to pull in your design. plus, it is a personal touch that shows t.l.c., and that always makes your guests feel extra special.

what was a late addition to the SS wedding suite was a good addition. we love making maps. though they can be time consuming they are gorgeous and well worth every second.

because the SS suite used such an intricate font as well as an intricate pattern {lace} we kept the SS map simple and clean.

in our opinion, a custom map can add such a custom feel to any event. with a one-of-a-kind interpretation of the lay of the land, it is one of the most unique little touches you can have.

congratulations on your wedding this past weekend SS! and to celebrate we will be sharing their entire suite of wedding paper products this week, here on our blog.

as we mentioned friday, the SS wedding suite was inspired by the OT wedding invitation. SS came to us with her heart already set on that exact invitation. as you all already know, we are a custom design shop, so we had to figure out a way to make SS an invitation all her own while using the OT invite as inspiration without replicating it identically. we used the same color grey {did you just hear the heavenly angels sing} and the same script font. then, knowing that SS's wedding gown was lace we decided to make that the graphic element to be blind letterpressed {more singing angels}.

the texture of lace was amazing for the blind letterpressed backing on the invitation {making these invitations extra thick}. there were so many little negative spaces in the lace pattern that we literally molded the paper. the effect was incredible; it looked just like a piece of real lace once pressed. and the best part...SS sent us a swatch of the lace from her wedding dress so that we could coordinate it with the lace pattern on the invitation. a pretty special little detail of this wedding suite if we do say so ourselves. subtle and so meaningful all at the same time.

save the date...for monday...because SS is getting married THIS weekend! and you know what that means, right? we finally get to show you all the SS goodness we have been working on.

remember this post? yes, that was the SS save the date being printed and that was also the first piece that our new{est} letterrpess, Junior, printed. so, between that little milestone of ours and the fact that we have been working with SS since september 22, 2009 {i just looked up and re-read our first email in celebration} you can imagine how much we have grown to love SS. that said, let us count the ways:

{1} SS is the sweetest bride and has been so much fun to work with. and it's a good thing because...

{2} we have been working with SS for a long while now. from save-the-dates to thank you stationery, invitations to seating charts, cocktail napkins to favor tags. wedding maps to programs. you get the idea.

{3}we even got to see engagement pictures of the adorable SS couple. fingers crossed we get to see the wedding photos too!

{4} the SS MOB is following us on twitter! how cool is that?!

{5} every time SS received one of their finished pieces we got updates with the reactions from their family and friends. so much fun for us to hear.

{6} some serious great taste! as you will see the SS wedding suite was originally inspired by our OT invitation plus we worked with the color grey and blind letterpress throughout. whats not to love?

{7} picture documentation of SS's at home assembly line, made up entirely of a&c letterpressed pieces. just a small taste of our every day.

{8} and maybe the coolest experience we had in creating the SS wedding suite was the 100% complete trust SS had in a&c. we basically got a list of items that SS needed and, well, that was it. we were able to let our creative juices flow in any which way we saw fit and the best part of that was SS loved it all. quite possibly the greatest compliment we could receive.

it has been a very exciting past couple of weeks for us here at a&c. not only have we been busy with wedding season {hooray!}, working with our first international client {in australia!}, but we were also blogged about on two of our most favorite wedding industry blogs!

style me pretty did a wonderfully extensive post on the AB wedding. as a powerhouse and trendsetter in the wedding industry we were honored to be a featured story. we know that the style me pretty blog reaches brides and vendors around the world {yes, around the world!} and we are just to thankful for their recognition, kind words and generous exposure.

then yesterday grey likes weddings {ummm...we love everything about the name and branding of her blogs, yes, blogs!} did a feature of the AB wedding. appearing alongside hand picked features, that all show impeccable style and aesthetic, we were jumping for joy.

let us just say that it is a ginormous {gigantic + enormous} compliment that two such smart and design conscious blogs loved our work enough to share them with their loyal readers. we loved the AB wedding suite, but when others do too it's like reassurance that its not just us, you know? sometimes, when our own blood sweat and tears go into a project, we tend to become a little biased. so, thank you style me pretty and grey likes weddings. we read your blogs daily and it was beyond fun to see little old a&c up there with the big guns!

we made a box for SA to store his stationery in with the left over envelope liner paper. it was so beautiful we didn't even need to wrap it when we gave it to him. we just tied a silk ribbon around the box and that was that { really should have gotten a picture of that to show you }.

because this box was made specifically for SA's stationery, everybody { and by everybody we mean the cards and the envelopes } fit perfectly snug inside. no corners will get bent over the years, no random piles of envelopes will be found in this drawer or stray cards left on that shelf. they will all be neatly kept together inside the box. and when SA uses the very last note, the box is sturdy enough to use for keepsakes. we take that back. this box is sturdy enough to last him until he orders another set of stationery to fill it with. yes, that's what we meant to say.

so, lets start with the liners before we show you the whole completed set of stationery. we think it will make more sense that way...

we made custom, lifestyle stationery for a very special cousin of a&c for his bar mitzvah. and, as you may know, a&c thinks stationery makes the boy a man { yep, that's all it takes }. what a perfect gift for the occasion then, no? you may have noticed from friday's post that this cousin is an atlas and little known fact, all us atlases are obsessed with our last name.

so, on that note, we ordered delicate hand crafted paper from italy { ! } to use for the envelope liners. three different patterns all with globe themes. get it...atlas.

the paper came in large sheets which was great for cutting several liners out of each and only getting obscure hints of the globes within the boundaries of the liner. that way, the atlas message is more obscure and every envelope liner is a bit different. we had fun placing each liner pattern on the paper, commiserating over it every time and cutting them out one-by-one once we got the perfect fragment of a globe on each { see below }. they turned out great and look fantastic on their own as well as all together.

one of our favorite things to create is lifestyle stationery for our clients. nothing feels more luxurious or makes one more excited to write a note than custom stationery.

for NN we took their wedding logo and made stationery that can last the two of them a lifetime of note writing. a sweet little memento from their wedding in their every day life. what a nice little trip down memory lane they will have every time they sit down to write a note.

After Earth Day last week we did a bit of spring cleaning and organizing. Along with all that packing material our dies have been piling up too. Not surprising, as we were sorting and separating we got inspired. Don't they all just look so beautiful tossed together like that? And so we don't feel the heavy burden of loss when we get rid of them, which would without a doubt force us to become hoarders (Have you all seen that show on A&E? It's fascinating and always sends me on a late night cleaning spree.), we took some photos to remember their beauty by.

Here is what we did this Earth Day...

We have been saving all of our samples, scraps and letterpressed "trash" since last year. We shredded it all up and will be using it as our packing material when we ship out packages of invitations, stationery, business cards, etc. to our clients. That way, when you receive your beautiful pieces, they will be safe and sound in a nest of letterpressed confetti. It looks so cool too! You get little bursts of color and tails of script on every little piece of it. And, it keeps getting better...feel free to recycle it (or reuse it for your own packing material) when you receive your package in the mail!

as you may guess, we love BL! we created stationery for this couple and love them only (well no, we love them for many reasons) for the fact that their stationery is completely blind letterpressed. this isn't even a one color process, it is essentially a NO color process, but you would never know it. don't the valleys and shadows of blind letterpress create such depth (no pun intended) and such color for you? no? just us?

so, not only did we design the printed material, but we also designed the event logo and signage for the evening. ANSA was beyond generous and gave a&c tickets to the event! we were basically floating the entire night. here are a few things we saw at the event that were, lets just say, very familiar to us.

and look what we found on our way out of the theater! framed posters that lined the outside of the entrance. its not the best since it was at the end of the night but we still snapped a shot. we were, and still are, so proud!

okay, since we are doing some back blog-ing (get it...back log-ing) we had to dedicate this week to a very special client of ours, artists for a new south africa (ANSA).

ANSA came to a&c for their 20th anniversary celebration. not only was this a huge event for them, but to say it was a huge honor for us would be a gigantic understatement. we love being a part of weddings, but we are always very moved when we are able to work with non-profit organizations as well. we really cant put it into words, but lets just leave it at we were over the moon with the opportunity to work with ANSA.

this is the event logo, invitation and reply card that we designed for ANSA's annual event. congratulations to you ANSA! we love you guys (and your invitation this past year)! you know a post is late when you have to reference last year.

AB . post wedding stationery

the AB post wedding stationery is very similar to the AB pre wedding stationery (we think our photography skills have come a long way). the pre wedding stationery was used for thank you notes prior to the wedding date, you know, for shower thank you notes or anything AB received before the wedding. the post stationery was for the thank you notes to be sent for gifts AB received on their wedding day and after.

both sets of stationery had the same letterpressed envelope liner and embossed backing. they both even features the signature "b". we think the differences in the two stationery sets was subtle yet impactful, and oh so cute.

and since it has been a while since the AB wedding (and these pictures are way better), we thought we would show you the two sets of stationery side by side. dont you just love this idea? we sure did!

AB . bridesmaid gifts of stationery

better late than never right? we are so sorryyyyyy for taking so long to share these with you! so many things, so little time. but here we are, so lets refresh our memories with the AB wedding and get to it!

these are the gifts that AB gave to her bridesmaids. custom, personalized stationery. how fabulous is that! OM did the same thing, and we think this is the best kind of gift one could possibly give, typical us, but seriously. nice stationery is something that we all want/need but hardly take the time to do and do right. yes, that means spending the dough for it too, unless of course you are part of the small, but awesome, obsessed with paper goods club that we are members of too (so dont feel bad, we are cool). because if you are a part of this elite club, you already know how worth it it is.

remember NB (please excuse our awful photos, we were just beginning)? something we didnt mention is that prior to becoming distinguished (by receiving his amazing stationery) he was still, in his 30's, using the stationery he got from high school graduation. now, there are many things concerning with this that we just dont have time to get into, but case in point. it is rare that one spends the time/money on nice stationery for themselves, so THIS is why we are saying it is the most PERFECT gift to give AND receive!

now that we all have a good background on the importance of stationery, lets get back to AB's bridesmaid gifts. they coordinated with the whole wedding suite and they were, if i may, AH-MAZE-ING! they were made with extra thick paper, so they were very substantial and so luxurious. and our favorite part is the super deep blind letterpressed impressions we used for each maids name on their set of stationery cards. honestly, they were ridiculously beautiful. so, take your time drooling over the below images and know you are not alone. we LOVE.

{ for the ladies that were potentially moving in the near future we printed a return address "area" for them to use on their envelope flap. that way, no matter what, their stationery was never outdated. }

thankfully, our work with the fabulous gals of st. kilda and design mouth didnt stop there. nora had custom candles made and needed a tag to name them with. yes, we got to be a part of that too!

these were the smallest things we have ever worked with, thus far that is...and no, that is not a challenge. they measured one inch by one inch and were oh so cute! they sounded like chimes when they were tossed together and i felt like tiling a kitchen back splash with them or using them as shingles on a house. is that weird? check back later this week to see the tags being put to their real use - we got a picture of the tags hung on nora's candles!

ST. KILDA . rapture invitation

it was fate! i visited st. kilda jewelry in brooklyn a few weeks back and had the opportunity to meet nora, the artist behind the beautiful designs. we got to talking design and in the midst of falling in love with EVERYTHING (and i mean everything!) in her store, a&c came up. why is it fate you ask, because not only do i have a st. kilda piece now in my jewelry box, but a few days later nora's pr person called us for a job!

so, not only did i discover st. kilda and meet the designer, but then we also got to meet and work with gabriela (amazing lady and so freaking cute!) of design mouth (arent you already obsessed with her based on her logo alone? um, i am!). it was a quick turn around time but we were able to have these invitations (below) printed and ready for them to send out in a matter of days (1.5 to be exact). phew! my head is spinning just thinking about it.

i am so happy it all worked out, and that we had the amazing opportunity to meet and work with such cool people. dont you just love the st. kilda logo too?! it turned out beautiful - letterpress really loved those cool flourishes.

thank you for thinking of us ladies. we had so much fun - probably because we LOVE your style. hope your event was a smash too!

we are on ETSY!

we are very excited to share with you our first piece on etsy!

on tuesday we posted about this new venture that we have found ourselves working with in 2010. and man oh man do we have a lot to catch you up on.

A&C is developing a retail line. yes, you read correctly, a retail line. we are still in the development stages, busy ironing out all of the details before we share the specifics with you. we are hurrying! trust us, we cant wait to share.

this brings us to etsy. we are thrilled to take this on. a little late to get on the boat, we know, but excited none the less. we have only listed one item as of now. starting out slow (clearly, we just joined etsy after all!) and getting our bearings. there will be more to come, we promise. and with that will come a whole lot of our retail line. it will all make more sense soon, we hope!

and last but not least...a tad off topic but too cute to pass up. as soon as i finished pressing these today i immediately turned around and took pictures. i was too excited to wait until tomorrow, and plus there was a good amount of natural light still left in the day. in the middle of my picture taking one of our studio pups thought he would get in on the action as well. i think he makes for a great, furry little model, if i do say so myself.

The WM wedding keeps popping up, and that's a good thing, because we love them!

Their fabulous photographer Yvonne Wong did a beautiful post of their wedding on her blog, and we were lucky enough to get a shout out! Woot! Woot! OUR NEW ADDITION

It has been a while since our last post but we have some exciting news that should make it worth the wait.

We have an addition to the a&c family! It's our new {to us} baby press! Isn't she a beauty?

We found her in a converted old chicken barn in the middle of an old farm. You would not believe all of the presses and press related things that were packed in that one space. It was like heaven! And we are still processing all of the history and information her foster father {above} had to share with us during our two day visit.

In this shot alone {below} I see 6 different letterpresses.....can you imagine what the space to the left and right had in it. It was a literal treasure chest! The moving process to the city was way less of an ordeal as she is a mere 100 pounds. That and she sits atop a restored type chest...on wheels. The sidewalks of New York City had nothing on her and compared to our other beast, moving her was a breeze!

Her name was naturally Jr., because who could forget her big sister, our first love. Welcome to the family little Miss Jr.

A bitter-sweet Monday. The last of the Abby Ross photos to share with you.

These are the photos that Abby took of the table settings at the AB wedding which featured our letterpressed dinner menus. As you can see we planned in our design to incorporate the same custom died silk ribbon wrap that we used on the AB invitations. The menus were the same size as the main invitation panel as well as had the same embossed pattern backing. Since the wedding was full of repeating patterns we thought we would carry that theme through by repeating little touches throughout the course of the event {Our take on subliminal messaging. Muahaha!} So, this was one of the ways we did that {Another way we did this was repeating the paper garland. The table signage at the AB wedding was the same as the invitation inserts garland).

We got off on a tangent there. So, without further ado, here are the last of the amazing photos that Abby Ross took of the a&c pieces at the AB wedding. Thank you so much Abby! Your work is stunning!

Aren't the table numbers awesome?! Each menu on the table had a wooden number tied up in the silk ribbon. This was table 6...

This is a treat for you...at least we think so. We never blogged about the making of the signage for the AB wedding, but trust us, there was a lot of it!

As you know, we are big fans of design and really believe in carrying your design throughout your entire event and in all printed pieces that you may have. To us, that means all fonts should be consistent, all colors should coordinate and all design should be done with the same integrity. Even down to the reserved seating signs on your ceremony chairs, no joke, just look at the second and third picture here.

It was a huge treat, for us, when we saw the photos from Abby Ross. She worked her photo fairy magic and was able to cover all basis of the AB wedding. I think it helps to have a photographer who is just as into the details...that way, not-a-one is missed.

This is a picture of one of three signs we created for the AB wedding. We had one that said "Wedding," one that said "Parking" and one that led guests to the ceremony site. That one is pictured below. Recognize the font? You should! We are such detail freaks that we did the printing on these directional wood signs so that they coordinated with the AB wedding suite perfectly.

And, can I just quickly remind you of where else you have seen the phrase "Future Mr. & Mrs. B" Oh, the coordination makes us squeal with delight....you?

And here you can see the reserved seating signs tied to the backs of the ceremony chairs. These were for the family walking down the aisle. They acted as place holders so that seats were saved for the wedding party after they took their walk. They were also flooded with one of the signature AB wedding patterns. And yes, it was letterpressed!

You may be able to see the reserved seating signs a little better in the photo...

And, we couldn't leave the lemonade table out of the party. A paper garland of letterpressed pattern and custom died silk ribbon adorned the front of the lemonade table {as well as the photo booth table, not shown}.

JB had an intimate wedding so their parents wanted to send out announcements to those who were not in attendance. we developed these announcement cards to coordinate with the rest of JB's wedding suite. here at a&c the word coordinate is an important one. we think even if you are sending out different pieces they should all coordinate with your overall event, and thus with one another. it just makes your wedding coherent and your style seamless. therefore...each announcement sent out had a taste of the amazing pattern that flowed throughout JB's wedding suite, just a taste.

JB . wedding invitation

we have been so excited for JB to get married so that we could share their amazing wedding invitation with you...and, of course, so they could live happily ever after together.

they got married at the parker palm springs, which if you have been there, then you know about the amazing great wall at the entrance. we took the repeated pattern inspiration from there and applied it to their wedding suite. you see it in the envelope liner and on the back of their invitation panel {our favorite} where we blind letterpressed it to get the subtle, yet impactful tone-on-tone effect.

and, one last pattern detail. to make it pop we repeated the pattern using envelope liners, but in their signature wedding color, tomato red. it made the whole invitation suite so elegant and fancy without taking away from the unique design. we think it was the perfect pop!

we were blogged....on STYLE ME PRETTY!!! well we werent....but OT was...and abby larson mentioned us within her post....twice!

if you follow our blog, then you are probably getting married or are somehow involved in the wedding business...and if either of those things are true, or you just have a love of good design and taste, then you are probably very familiar with style me pretty. and if youre not, well, thats just not possible.

this was our first invitation request. and by that we mean, VS came to us loving the WM invitation, and how could we blame them? because we pride ourselves on custom design and giving each of our clients a one of a kind product, we never replicate, however, we also want to make our clients happy. so, to do this we used the WM wedding invitation as our jumping off point and our point of inspiration while creating the VS wedding invitation. and...voila!

sometimes a long day of printing can make some accidents happy.

here is a happy little accident that i thought turned out to be photo worthy. after i was finished cleaning the ink off the press, i realized i had forgotten to take the plate out as well as clean the ink off of it, and look what happened....a pretty little visual....of the invitation we have in store for you come monday! happy weekend!

possibly the nicest escort cards (aka :: table seating cards) we have ever seen at a wedding, and we are not just saying that because we made them.

DW spared no attention to detail, even when it came down to the escort cards (aka :: seating cards). yup, thats right, these are two sided, letterpressed escort cards...and oh how delicious they feel in your hands. we were so excited for this wedding to come, for many reasons, but one reason in particular was for the guests to pick up their table assignment and hold these cards in their hands.

the impression was deep and the calligraphy was spot on the font we used throughout the wedding suite. these couldnt have been better if we tried, and thats a great feeling!

much like the invitation is a fantastic way to set the tone for your wedding, your thank you stationery should sum up the event, in the look and feel of the actual stationery that is.

this is the DW wedding thank you stationery we created and we just love it. not only is it a great reminder of DW's wedding style, it will also be great stationery for them for years to come. we hope they have leftover to use for everyday notes! how fun would that be!?

below are the table numbers that we made for the DW wedding. it was a nice & subtle way to tie in the design elements of the printed pieces with their table arrangements. many people may for go the cost of custom table numbers but we really thinks it adds a special, buttoned-up quality to the reception as a whole. it looks deliberate, thought through and cohesive.

a huge CONGRATULATIONS is due for DW who were married, not this past weekend, but the weekend before. we have just had so much to share with you since then.

the design element (lace flower) in the wedding suite worked amazing in the detail we got from it. it is a toss up really, we cant decide if we like it better blind letterpressed (on the main invitation panel) or with ink (on the reception insert). luckily, we got to use BOTH in the invitation suite!

you can see that we were at the sewing machine again with this one, after the pressing was finished. stay tuned this week as we share with you the rest of the wedding suite details. more lace flowers and stitching to come!

OH! we almost forgot to mention our favorite part of the invitation....check out the envelope flap...YUM!

you saw on tuesday what was the beginnings of this beautiful invitation. we just love this peony and the deep impressions we can get out of it. it really captures that charm of letterpress that we just cant get enough of.

you know what this means....there must be new wedding pieces to share! we did the wedding invitation for LD who got married this past sunday (sorry we are a bit behind and off our normal friday sneak peek schedule...there have just been so many great things to share)! here are three pictures taken from the printing process. these arent nearly complete so you will have to check back to see the final invitation...and when you do, you should know that just the main invitation panel alone will have been through the press 6 times. yes thats right, each main invitation panel (no we are not including the envelopes or the two inserts here) passed through the press 6 times. cant you just hardly wait to see?!

AB . welcome bags

yup, thats right....that is a letterpressed drawstring bag you are looking at. one of our favorite things to letterpress actually.

this is the welcome bag guests of the AB wedding received upon checking into their hotel. a perfect way to start of the festive weekend....with all three of the AB wedding patterns in one place at one time that is.

We just couldn't get enough of the deep pattern on the back of the AB wedding invitation panel so we thought we would bring that element into the actual wedding event by duplicating it on the back of the menus. The menus turned out nice and thick because of the pattern that we laminated to the back of them. AND! To save space on the table, as well as paper of course, the menus doubled as the guests' place card with their name calligraphed at the top as so.

the escort cards for the AB wedding, or rather the table assignment cards, were mini version of the RSVP envelope in the AB wedding invitation. liner and all. we wish you could hold one of these tiny little things in your hands...they are so cute!

AB . cocktail napkins

one of our favorite things to letterpress around here are cocktail napkins. though quite labor intensive (we have to unfold each one, print them one-by-one and then refold each napkin) we think they are well worth it! they add that unexpected detailed touch to every event. its a great way to subtly tie in design elements.

we printed 1700 cocktail napkins for the AB wedding as they were used for the pre-ceremony beverages, cocktail hour and horse de'oeuvres as well as the entire reception. if you do the math (allow us to do it for you) and calculate that we handled each napkin three times (unfold, print & re-fold) that means that, at the very least, we touched the napkins 5,100 times. wasnt that a fun little game?

presenting...the invitation that started it all...that was the birth of a&c...the AB wedding invitation!

this was our first project, and really the project that captured the attention of some of our first clients and thus made the dream of a&c possible. though it has been a slow process getting this one off the ground (thanks to our jam packed printing schedule) it has been well worth the wait!

we are so excited to share this very special wedding with you, and yes you guessed it...the new mrs. aubrey bartolo is really yours turly...the aubrey atlas of atlas&campbell.
